But at Blackburn Baseball Club, we know our culture is the driver of our success with a focus on great people first and great baseball second. This supports our Club Coach’S firm belief that we should be creating better men and women first and better baseballers and baseball will follow.
FOUNDED IN 1953 when a few mates wanted to play baseball in the cricket ‘off season’
A successful Division 1 club located in Melbourne’s East, Blackburn Orioles has a proud & successful history spanning over 60 years with many great baseball names playing for the club. These include ex Major League baseball’s in Peter Moylan and Luke Hughes.
With countless premierships across all grades , including a back to back premiership in recent years and 3 x Club Championships, Blackburn has always been a club who enjoys success across the entire club; from our T-ballers through to our over 45 Masters teams.
Located in Vermont South in Melbournes East, Blackburn Baseball Club is part of Baseball Victoria’s, Victorian Baseball Summer League.
We know as a club we are part of shaping young kids (and sometimes older men and women) so offer leadership and mental health programs to all our members. We started these programs across both Snrs and Jnrs a few years ago and is something we are very proud of.
We offer teams across Division 1 Firsts, Division 1 Seconds, Division 1 Thirds, Division 1 Fourths, Masters 38+ East, Masters 45+ East, U18 Metro Combined, U16 Metro East, Junior League Major, Little League Major, Little League Minor

AGES 3 AND UP FOR BOYS AND GIRLS, OUR PROGRAM IS LEAD BY EX AUSTRALIAN PLAYER & PE TEACHER , KATHY BERG, WHO TEACHES THE KIDS HOW TO THROW, CATCH, SLIDE (SOMETIMES EVEN USING A WATERSLIDE WHEN IT’S HOT) AND BASIC DISCIPLINES LIKE LISTENING TO COACHES & STANDING IN A STRAIGHT LINE :)
OUR TBALL PROGRAM RUNS FOR 60 MIN ON A WEDNESDAY NIGHT DURING JNR TRAINING
ALL KIDS GET A HAT AND TSHIRT AND WE PROVIDE ALL EQUIPMENT
WHILST OUR SUCCESSFUL JNR PROGRAM HAS PRODUCED NUMEROUS VICTORIAN AND AUSTRALIAN PLAYERS OVER THE YEARS, AT BLACKBURN, WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON ENSURING THE KIDS ENJOY THE GAME FIRST AND FOREMOST
THE HIGHLY RESPECTED AND MUCH LOVED RYAN BERG HEADS UP OUR JUNIOR PROGRAM AS ‘DIRECTOR OF JNR BASEBALL’ AND HAS BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN DRIVING CHANGE ON AND OFF THE FIELD FOR OUR KIDS AND PARENTS.

JUNIORS
A highly successful Snr club which has seen ‘the Burners’ not miss a finals play off series in close to 20 years, Blackburn Baseball Club has become a destination club both on and off field.

MONDAY NIGHTS ARE MASTERS NIGHT WHERE ALL THOSE EXCEPTIONAL ATHLETES FROM 45 YEARS AGO, BATTLE IT OUT TO SHOW WHO STILL HAS IT.
WE OFFER TWO TEAMS -OVER 38’S AND OVER 45’S- WHERE WE STILL HAVE PLAYERS IN THEIR 70’S COMPETING LIKE THEY ARE 16.
OVER THE YEARS, OUR TEAMS HAVE ALSO STARTED TO INCLUDE THE DADS OF OUR JNR KIDS WHO WANT TO HAVE SOME FUN IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT AND ONE WHICH SERVES A SIT DOWN DINNER AFTER THE GAME

in 2023/24 we celebrate our 60th year of baseball. we started with 4 teams of kids from blackburn high and now are one of the best clubs in the land.
